PlantPal is your companion for managing plant care. This policy explains how we handle information when you use our app and site (“Services”). We designed PlantPal to work without login and to keep your plant data on your device by default.

1) Consent

By using the Services, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use.

2) Information We Collect

• Plant Data (on device): Plant names, species, photos, watering schedules, notes, last-watered timestamps, and health logs are stored locally on your device.
• Notifications & Settings: Reminder times, frequency, and notification preferences are saved on your device.
• Support Messages: If you email us or submit the support form, we collect your name, email address, and message to assist you.
• Optional Analytics: We may collect aggregated, anonymous metrics (e.g., feature usage, crashes) to improve performance. This does not include your plant content.
• Crash Reports (optional): If enabled in your OS, anonymized crash logs may be shared to help us diagnose issues.

3) How We Use Information

• Provide and maintain core features (plant list, schedules, reminders, charts, dark mode).
• Respond to feedback and support requests.
• Analyze anonymous usage to improve stability and design.
• Communicate important changes or updates.

4) Storage, Backups & Security

Your plant data remains on your device. If you use device backups (e.g., iCloud/Google Drive), your data may be included under those providers’ terms. We apply reasonable safeguards for any information you send us via email or support forms; however, internet transmission and storage cannot be guaranteed 100% secure.

5) Sharing & Third-Party Services

We do not sell your personal data. Where used, third-party vendors (analytics, crash reporting, email support) process limited data on our behalf under their privacy policies and only for the purposes described here.

6) Children’s Privacy

PlantPal is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child provided personal data, contact us to delete it.

7) Your Choices & Controls

• On-device control: Add, edit, or delete plant entries and notes at any time.
• Notifications: Adjust reminder times or disable notifications in the app or system settings.
• Dark Mode: Toggle dark theme in the app or follow your system appearance.
• Analytics/Crash reports: Disable optional sharing in your device settings if available.
• Support data: You may request deletion of prior support emails at any time.

8) Retention

Support emails and related correspondence are retained only as long as necessary to address your request and meet legal obligations. Plant data stays on your device until you delete it or remove the app.

9) International Users

If you access the Services from outside our operating country, you consent to the processing and storage of information in that country, which may have different data protection rules than your region.

10) Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy periodically. We’ll revise the “Effective date” and, when appropriate, notify you through the app or site. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
